Members collaborate in smaller groups called Common Interest Workgroups or (CIWG's). We have 8 of these events per year and they are designed to focus on developing outcomes to issues prioritised in the Roundtable Meetings. To date these have encompassed the following topics;

The initial focus for this group came from the topic of Lessons learnt regarding large IT/EDRM/CM/IM implementations.
They have quickly shown themselves to be a sophistocated group of individuals who have been collaborating around a number of key business issues related to enabling and sharing information and knowledge within and across organisational and geographic boundaries. Some of the "site visits" that they have conducted in the short time that they have been together include Cadbury Schweppes. & Medibank with their next one being the Web Master from Land and Water Australia. Here they will be looking at how LWA significantly reduced their IT spend whilst enhancing information and knowledge sharing nationally.
-
Creating a Culture of Knoweldge Sharing - This is a new group who will be looking at how organisations can move from being reactive and ad hoc around their knowledge and information sharing to developing a culture that will support sustainability through sharing. Having already had speakers such as Woodside and Buckman Labs this group are considering areas such as Allumni, Knowledge Management Maturity Models and many other interventions that are available to organisations today.

Web & Enterprise 2.0
Early on we conducted a Common Interest Workgroup in Partnership with RMIT on tools that can be used within organisations to enhance collaboration across geographical and organisational boundaries. An outcome of this was the development of our own online environment to share information, tools and learnings.
Since then we have gone down the path of exploring the Web and Enterprise 2.0 tools and methodologies in some detail. We are continuing on this journey to ensure that we explore and meet the needs of the contempory and future looking organisations and their employees.
- Knowledge Exiting Strategies and keeping Technical Knowledge - This group of organisations collaborated around the Burning Business issue of loss of organisational memory. Their first priority was to source and consolidate a comprehensive selection of strategies, tools and methodologies that would enable them to identify and retain key people or information that was vital to business continuity.Identify, develop and share knowledge and techniques for retaining and managing critical and technical knowledge - with Organisations in profile such as Australia Post, Woodside, CSIRO, Telstra, ABS & Dept of Defence to name but a few.
-
Stakeholder Engagement - Gaining Organisation and Executive buy in to knowledge Sharing in Organisations which is a key opportunity for innovation and a must for organisations who want to manage risk effectively. We have a number or case studies already on this topic.
